"Quick" Questions Clarke here. Since I started writing books on building, I've gotten a steady stream of email from people asking my advice on specific questions about their building projects. Every time I write an article, the flow of email increases. The fact of the matter is that even apparently simple questions take my focused effort and (to me at least) valuable time. I take this seriously and am careful to answer accurately and with enough content to make it very clear what I'm suggesting you think about, look into, or try. I want to be helpful, but just can't keep up with the load and keep on track with my other projects. As a result, I've decided to start charging a modest fee for my time. Here's the new set-up: 1. First send an email describing your situation and asking your question(s) to this address: questions@thinkgreenbuilding.com. Be as clear and complete as you can. Remember, I'm not there to see what's going on, so you have to tell me. 2. I'll respond quickly (I try to spend some time on this every day) and tell you if I can help you and how much I'll charge. My minimum for this service is $25. If I need to email you sketches, have a phone conference, or do additional research or legwork, the fee can run up to a maximum of $100. If the situation seems more involved than that, I'll suggest that we talk on the phone and make other arrangements. My email will include instructions for payment which is due before I work on answering your question(s). Email: questions@thinkgreenbuilding.com
