Why a "Knowledge Base"

Hi, I’m Clarke Snell, one of the minions here at Think Green Building. I want to put forth a radical concept: only you can know what building you need. In fact, at this point, you’re the only one who thinks that the non-existent building you want even needs to be built. Obviously, then, bringing this building from imagination to reality is your job.

That can be simultaneously an exciting and frightening concept. You are in charge, but you are also responsible. That’s not to say that you won’t need help. Hey, we all need help. However, the more you know, the better you’ll be able to understand what you want and, in turn, the better you’ll be able to express yourself to those who are helping you.

This knowledge base is an introduction to the basics you’ll need to make decisions and talk intelligently about the building you are imagining. It is an ongoing project that will grow over time, so check back periodically. The information here is greatly expanded upon in two books that I have written, “The Good House Book” and (with Tim Callahan) “Building Green”.
